High Gas Prices in Nuevo León Revealed

The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) has taken measures at gas stations across the country, placing 19 banners in 12 Mexican states, including Nuevo León, Nayarit, Jalisco, and Mexico City, among others. This action aims to ensure a fair market for consumers.

In Mexico City, César Iván Escalante Ruiz, head of Profeco, presented the report "Who is Who in Prices" during a press conference alongside President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. According to Escalante Ruiz, it was found that in Nuevo León there are gas stations selling fuel at higher prices without justification, particularly in the localities of Guadalupe and San Pedro Garza García.

On the route from Cadereyta to Monterrey, 56 gas stations were found selling above the national average, which represents an additional cost for drivers in that area. The data revealed by Profeco indicates a disparity in gasoline prices at different service stations in Nuevo León.

This information is presented as part of an effort to maintain transparency in the fuel industry and protect the interests of Mexican consumers. Health as a fundamental right is at the center of these monitoring and regulatory actions by the relevant authorities.
